2. Give out awards

Another good way of making sure your event sucks is to give out plenty of awards. If everyone is there only because they receive an award, that's a great boost to your suckyness. At FSCONS, we only give out one, possibly two, awards. The most prominent is the Nordic Free Software Award. We're so bad at organising it though, that by tradition it becomes a very low-key event in the whole scheme of things.
